Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Smith Optics gear, shipping, and warranty policies.

How do I determine which lens tint is best for my environment?

Choosing the right tint depends on the Visible Light Transmission (VLT). For bright, sunny days, we recommend a low VLT lens (darker tint). For cloudy or low-light conditions, a high VLT lens (lighter tint) like our ChromaPop™ technology will enhance contrast and definition.

What is the Smith Optics lifetime warranty policy?

We stand behind our products. Smith offers a limited lifetime warranty on all sunglasses and goggles, covering defects in materials and workmanship. Please note that lens scratches and normal wear and tear are not covered under this policy.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days. Standard ground shipping usually arrives within 3-5 business days. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout for those who need their gear sooner for their next adventure.

Can I order prescription lenses for my Smith sunglasses?

Yes, many of our performance and lifestyle frames are prescription-compatible. You can visit an authorized Smith optical retailer or use our online prescription partner to customize your frames with authentic Smith prescription lenses.

What is your return policy for gear that doesn't fit?

We offer a 30-day return policy for items in new, unused condition with original packaging. Simply initiate a return through our online portal to receive a prepaid shipping label. Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days of receipt.

How should I clean and store my goggles to prevent fogging?

Always use the included microfiber bag to clean lenses. Avoid wiping the inside of the lens when wet, as this can damage the anti-fog coating. Store your goggles in a cool, dry place and never leave them on your helmet overnight while damp.
